What is the Maker Lab?
The Maker Lab is a space where you can use your creativity to make projects with a Cricut, Laser cutter, 3D printer or Sewing machine.
What equipment do you have/can I use in the Maker Lab?
We have laser cutters, 3D printers, Cricut Machines, and Sewing machines.
How can I use the equipment in the Maker Lab?
To use the equipment for your own projects, you first need to attend an orientation for the machine that you want to use.
How old do you have to be to use the Maker Lab?
Library customers ages 16 and up can use the Maker Lab on their own. Those younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult who has also attended an orientation.
How do I sign up for classes?
You can register on the library website from the events page.
How do I know what classes or orientations are happening each month?
Orientations are every Monday with rotating evening orientations available as well. You can also check out the library events page to see which Orientation is scheduled.
Does it cost anything to use the Maker Lab?
All of the machines in the Maker Lab are free to use. The material used to do 3D printing (filament) has a cost based on weight.
What is the difference between an orientation and a class/workshop?
- Workshops/classes are programs where all participants get to create a project selected by staff.
- Orientations are for library users to get access to making private reservations to make their own projects.
