Sharpen your pencils, pull out your stationery, and open your heart as you explore the art of love poetry in EducArte Tu Voz: Poetry Workshop. Drawing inspiration from December -- Alley Theatre's world premiere play by Marisela Trevino Orta, directed by Marcela Lorca, you'll dive into the connection of Carolina and Bemjamin, two characters whose friendship blossoms into romance. The workshop will be led by Icess Fernandez Rojas, an educator, writer and former journalist. Fernandez Rojas is author of The Opposite of Breathing is Cement and a graduate of Goddard College's MFA program and the University of Houston.
Following the workshop, join us for Cuentos y Charlas: a panel discussion hosted by Nuestra Palabra Latino Writers Having Their Say, Aeolian Manor Foundation, and the Barrio Kids Network focusing on the themes of December and explores the intersection of love, poetry and storytelling. Panelists include:
- Blanca Beltran-Robinson, producer of the Barrio Kids Network and former producer for the Debra Duncan Show
- Tony Diaz, El Librotraficante and writer, author, activist and founder of Nuestra Palabra
- Bryan Lopez, Intimacy Dance Instructor at Aeolian Manor Foundation
Refreshments provided. Plus: an opportunity for poetry workshop participants to showcase their talents during an Open-Mic Celebration Alley Theatre the following week. And, the first 10 participants will receive a complimentary ticket to attend December at Alley Theatre on January 23, 2025.

Inspirándote en la obra de estreno mundial de diciembre de Alley Theatre de Marisela Treviño Orta, dirigida por Marcela Lorca, te sumergirás en la conexión de Carolina y Bemjamin, dos personajes cuya amistad se convierte en romance.
