Hammerhead Flatworms, an invasive species native to southeast Asia, have been showing up in backyards here in the Houston area.
Contact can cause allergic reactions in humans because of chemicals secreted through their skin, and they are also a predator of earthworms, which are necessary for healthy plants and gardens.
Ashley Morgan-Olvera. Director of Research & Education at the Texas Invasive Species Institute at Sam Houston State University, will tell us how to spot the pest and what to do if you run across one, plus other plus other invasive worms, insects and plants that are important to know about.
